Florida Women's Center has been reliably providing professional abortion related care to Albany, Valdosta, Tallahassee and the surrounding Northeast Florida and Georgia areas for well over a decade. Our physician run professional women's medical center has become the recognized professional private physician operated facility where women can go to obtain private, reliable, safe, and highly experienced care by respected physicians trained in the field of abortion care. Our care by physicians with recognized advanced experience allowing us to provide abortions for not only very early pregnancies starting at about 3 weeks after conception, but we also provide care for the more advanced and complicated pregnancies as well, which are known as second trimester pregnancies and range up to 20 weeks. Only a few specifically licensed facilities are able to provide second trimester procedures in Florida and these facilities are required to comply with the strictest level of professional safety certifications by the State of Florida's Health Care Administration. The State of Florida legally requires additional safety criteria in facilities performing advanced abortions to assure that physicians in facilities providing advanced level pregnancy terminations meet strict safety standards and facility requirements.
Florida Women's Center is one of the few facilities in Florida qualified and certified to provide both early and late termination procedures. Due to this ability and physician qualifications, Florida Women's Center complies with the advanced licensing criteria required by the laws of Florida. In contrast, clinics that can only provide early first trimester abortions are not required to meet these strict educational, monitoring, equipment, and required safety standards by the State of Florida. This is the difference between some abortion clinics in Florida. There are a few small clinics in Florida that only meet the minimum requirements for State licensing or early abortions, and these clinics are limited to providing only the early 1st trimester abortions by law. Unfortunately, some of these 1st trimester abortion clinics also may not provide safe and effective IV anesthesia to assure patient comfort for the abortion procedure.
There are currently no local facilities in Tallahassee, Albany, Valdosta, or the surrounding areas that are licensed by the State of Florida to provide advanced 2nd trimester abortion procedures above 14 weeks LMP.
