Fees for Abortions
We are committed to keeping our medical fees affordable to all patients. Fees for medical services and abortion procedures are based on many criteria, depending on what services you request and the associated complexity and length of pregnancy or of your individual situation. We will always recognize that cost is very important to patients so we always make sure that our care, while offering the most private and dignified environment, is still affordable to everyone. We provide affordable abortion options and procedures while also allowing patients the true benefit of our private and professional medical care environment. Based on information you provide us when you call to discuss your needs, we can give you a price for the services you request. There is no obligation when you call and we know by experience that it is best to ask you questions to allow us to provide you with the most accurate price. Our fees are always very affordable and when you call we can provide you with the costs of care necessary to assist in your needs.

Things to look for in various fees at different facilities
You will find that fees in various cities and some clinics are often very different. There are many adverising gimmicks used by clinics relating to fees and services. Some facilities will label the standard testing, ultrasounds, anesthesia and even follow-up visits as being "free" in order to make patients feel like they are getting a deal on these standard and routinely included services. At Florida Women's Center, we strive to provide patients with the most professional and affordable services in our region, and if you have health insurance coverage, we will file the claim for your direct reimbursement if they cover the medical care provided under your policy. At Florida Women's Center, our inclusive fee includes all of the standard laboratory work-up and ultrasound, which is part of the normal evaluation of every patient. In addition, your anesthesia, standard post-op medications, and of course the follow-up visit is included at no additional charge.
We have found that there are a few clinics that will charge you extra money to perform even routine and necessary tests, such as the required Rh typing of your blood, because they know you must have your Rh type tested and determined for you to be able to get an elective abortion. Because they know this, and they know you are likely not aware of the Rh type of your blood, they put this extra fee in their services to increase the costs to you for an abortion. Our facility provides this routine test to every patient at no additional charge and as part of the routine lab work-up necessary for an elective termination. Florida Women's Center is a certified and Florida licensed laboratory qualified to perform this test by the State of Florida.
Finally, there are still a handful of clinics that may provide or use a menu-type system, sometimes even labeling patient options as "VIP" services to allow them to charge an increased rate for perceived privacy. Some small clinics even charge separately for anesthesia, or charge extra for what they may label as "more effective, faster at wearing off, or better anesthesia", making a patient choose between whether they can afford to be kept comfortable during this minor surgical procedure based on whether they have enough money for anesthesia. And obviously, if you are in one of these clinics and can't afford the advertized higher cost medications, they are willing to give you the lessor effective types.
In contrast, at Florida Women's Center, proper care and comfort for patients is always provided as part of the quoted and total fee, and we never charge more for anesthesia comfort. We always use some of the most effective professional and safe medications for our patients undergoing surgical procedures. Florida Women's Center provides these modern, safe, and effective medicines at no additional cost. Florida Women's center focuses on patient care and patient comfort and has no hidden fees or "surprise fees" as we strive to make our services as comforting and complete as possible all for one affordable price.
At Florida Women's Center, every patient we care for always receives only the highest level of care in our private and comfortable physician staffed private medical environment. All of our patients are treated with the utmost privacy and respect that is standard in true medical practice settings. All surgical IV anesthesia, labs, ultrasounds and standard post-operative medications associated with an abortion procedure are included in our cost and provided to patients without any additional charge. We use only modern and effective IV medications that are the same that you would get in a major hospital and our protocols for comfort medicines are provided by experienced physicians with Dr. Kelly having sought additional training in the field of anesthesiology. Our open and honest fee approach makes sure that patients only receive modern and complete medical care and abortion services, and are not limited by their ability to pay for "deceptively charged services". We provide your standard antibiotics and medications in our office at no extra charge to allow you to go home and relax after your procedure, as you should.
We recommend a follow-up visit in 4-6 weeks after the surgical procedure and there is no charge for this visit. We will address all forms of birth control options and needs as part of our services during your initial visit after your surgical procedure or at the follow-up visit if you choose. All patients receive physician approved Birth Control information, complimentary starter packs if appropriate, and a continued prescription for most methods of contraception commonly chosen by our patients. We offer all modern brands of Birth Control options.

There are a few women who have an Rh negative blood type, and if so they require a special injection called "Rhogam" to protect their future pregnancies from the implications of having this blood type. In the event that you have an uncommon negative blood type (Rh-negative), while there is no additional charge to determine this blood Rh type, there is a small additional fee for the administration of the Anti-Rh serum (rhogam injection).
Financial Assistance and Funding:
We have several programs to assist patients in obtaining funding and payment credit options. These options may be available for women in need who meet the requirements for funding. Also, we have available programs to allow patients to obtain payment credit options and payment plans if they choose, and there is only a very small service fee for this helpful option. We can discuss these methods when you call our facility.
Forms of Payment:
We accept all forms of payment, major credit cards, debit cards, and check cards but we do not accept personal checks. We also accept most major insurances and upon request, our staff can assist with insurance filing in order for you to receive a reimbursement if your policy covers the medical visit and associated procedures. We offer reduced fees to patients who are students, active military, or on Medicaid, so be sure and mention this when making your appointment and bring an ID.
