MISLEADING OR DECEPTIVE ADVERTISING

There are many things that are claimed in advertising that are able to be
interpreted in many ways.

This can be misleading and deceptive.

  • There are also a few things to look for when choosing a abortion provider for either simple information and answers to your many concerns, or for an actual abortion procedure.  Unfortunately, there are many deceptive tactics and confusing advertising used by the different clinics or anti-abortion pregnancy "crisis centers" or commonly called different names for "Help Centers" or Women's pregnancy crisis centers" of some type.  Althought these so-called crisis centers and "help-type centers" readily provide unsuspecting and often deceived patients with their versions of what they want you to believe in regards to exaggerated or incomplete stories relating to abortion information or assistance, they are usually not there in any way to assist you in finding a qualified abortion provider.  It appears that the main goal of anti-abortion sites appears to be to lure you in for free, and then either scare you or intimidate you into deciding not to have an abortion, no matter what reason or decision you have provided them relating to your individual situation may by.  Advice from these crisis and help centers is often provided free of charge to you but at the expense of your valuable time and also at the expense of you often getting incorrect information, inaccurate ultrasounds, and other tactics designed to delay your ultimate care and decision.  First, if you need accurate medical information, it is always best to avoid surfing the Internet for abortion-related questions and it is also best to avoid the anti-abortion help centers if you truly want to discuss your options when you are pregnant.  If you have questions about the abortion procedure, always directly contact a licensed abortion provider, or a true medical physician trained in gynecology who is familiar with elective abortions, the abortion procedure, and the qualified abortion doctors in your area. As the internet is a completely unregulated source of often extremely inaccurate and blatantly incorrect information concerning abortions, effects, and medical statistics concerning abortions, make sure you on on a site such as this one which actually provides abortion care and information.  If the site is claiming to provide statistics on how the abortion procedure is so dangerous, you are likely on an anti-abortion site designed to mislead you. The sites and actual "help centers" that are clearly and purposefully designed by anti-abortion fanatics with the sole intention of luring women in and then scaring and offending women when they making the difficult abortion decision. They are attempting to deceive and intimidate patients at this most vulnerable emotional time without a reliable professional medical basis for the opinions they convey in an effort to confuse and intimidate women in a most insensitive way. They will reference ridiculous unscientific sources of information and make unsubstantiated claims of complications and problems that women have had when undergoing an abortion procedure.  It is very easy to create a website and post personal unregulated opinions on the internet at a relatively minimal cost and effort. The anti-abortion sites and many "pregnancy crisis centers" are very deceptive and created or run by individuals who simply have no true compassion or respect for a woman's reproductive choice in our modern society.

  • "Free things are a trick to get you to call or come in".  What real doctor's office provides things for free?  Ask yourself if getting free medical care really makes sense.  Sad Latin lady indoors before shadowsAnti-abortion clinics advertise under many deceptive names, often using deceptive language that usually claims to offer "free abortion counseling" and "free services" and "Women's Help or Crisis Centers".  Another name for an anti-abortion facility will be "Pregnancy Crisis Centers".  In fact, Anti-abortion facilities and "crisis centers" are notorious for offering free ultrasounds, free pregnancy tests, and free pregnancy counseling. This is one of this biggest clues that they are Anti-abortion clinics or deceptive in what they offer as they are attempting lure you in to their facility by offering "free things".   Once you are lured in, the advice they give you is likely to be fashioned to convince you to do what they feel is best, not what is actually best for you.  We all recognize that true professional medical care and reliable services are never "free". These statements are designed to simply lure and attract unsuspecting women at this most vulnerable time. These facilities often then attempt instill a sense of fear or distrust of the abortion process, anesthesia, or even abortion providers by tricking patients into thinking they are providing professional advice and assistance.  They will try to make you distrust the actual medical doctors who perform abortion procedures as well.  These tactics are used by anti-abortion activists and designed to specifically interfere with a woman's right to choose and obtain professional and safe medical care.  There have even been reports that some anti-abortion crisis centers will actually provide prices for an abortion, even though they have no medical license, qualified doctor, or ability to provide these services.

  • Clinics that claim to offer free pregnancy or abortion advice or services can be very enticing, but just remember to use your common sense when choosing a medical care provider.  Facilities may also appear to offer advanced-date or second trimester abortions, but may not be licensed to do so or have a physician who is able to actually perform these relatively complicated procedures.  When you call, ask who the doctor is and where he is from, and ask if the doctor you are choosing can perform an advanced termination if you feel your pregnancy may be more advanced.  Ask if they actually perform these procedures or if they refer them out to other providers, which is what many anti-abortion centers may claim to do.  Ask if you can be counselled by the doctor personally when you arrive.  Ask if the doctor lives in town or travels from out-of-town just for the day to perform abortions part time.  Ask how long he or she has been providing abortions.   The very experienced doctors can provide abortion procedures up to approximately 20 weeks, and are not limited just to early first trimester or uncomplicated procedures.  These answers should be easily answered without evasiveness or hesitation.  Just remember, you are choosing a doctor, not a clinic to perform your abortion.  This is an important time for you and you deserve and have available only the most professional medical services.
We are very aware of the long history and development of modern abortion care and the many obstacles women encounter when faced with choosing an abortion procedure and abortion provider. Hopefully, this information can help you knowledgeably choose the level the medical care you are seeking.

How will you know the difference?

If you have concerns or questions, you should call and get a feel for the type of care you will receive.  Ask who the physician is that will be providing your care.   Ask if the facility itself is owned and the medical practice is directly run and managed by an actual Florida licensed medical doctor.  Ask who that doctor is, and make sure it is a person who works in the facility.   Again, all of your questions should be answered easily without any evasiveness and they should readily be able to tell you who the physician providing your medical care will be. Ask whether they provide IV anesthesia, which is the accepted standard practice in most modern cities providing abortions.  If you ask questions over the phone, you will get a feel for the type of facility you are calling. If a facility does not offer IV sedation to allow you to be completely comfortable, or even attempts to convince you that IV anesthesia is not necessary, it is probably best to seek care where modern options of medical care are available to you.
